A truly rare bird. This was the Silvertone try at building Paul's take on a Les Paul, a project he started in 1993 with Ibanez. (This was the result of his work with Ibanez. He used the guitar on stage for the show at the Foundations Forum in 1993 and it got some screen time for the Domino vide. It was listed as a prototype Ibanez in the Butterfields auction catalogue.) I originally had the designations of these models wrong but as this photo shows the PSM-2 was the bolt-on version and depending on the source anywhere between 50 and 200 of these were actually built. Of the few eBay listings I have found only one has identified the production number of the guitar and that seller claimed it was #24 of 120.

These were built in Indonesia (as evidenced by a sticker on the back of the headstock) and featured a decal that said "Paul Stanley [sig] of KISS" using the proper KISS logo.

An even rarer bird is the PSM-1 which was the set-neck version of the Monarch. According to the info I've found there are only two surviving guitars. This extremely limited number is probably due to the fact that Paul began talks with Washburn in 2006 (and used the Washburn verison of this body type, the Preacher, on stage for his solo tour). [Thanks to Jose Zarate-Mercado for a few of the photos of the elusive PSM-2.]
